Phishing... What are you talking about?

Phishing... What are you talking about?

We continue in our blog with the section: What are you talking about? It is a small contribution to this blog dedicated to Culture and in which we want to collect all those terms or expressions, whether or not they are included in the Dictionary of the Royal Spanish Academy (RAE), but which for one reason or another, now or in recent years are "sounding" in the media, in the street, in our environment.

Today we are talking about PHISHING. It is a term that has been present in our lives for some years now. It is a fraudulent practice for which we have to be prepared and not fall into it.

PHISHING: This is the name given to a technique used by cybercriminals who impersonate entities, such as our bank, a social network, a public entity, a company or a service that we use. Their aim is to obtain all the personal and banking information they can get from us: users and passwords, addresses, credit card details, etc., in order to make a financial charge or infect the device. To do this, they attach infected files or links to fraudulent pages.
