Plogging... What are you talking about?

Plogging... What are you talking about?

We are inaugurating in our blog the section: What are you talking about? A section that we will try to keep us company most Fridays. It will be our small contribution to this blog dedicated to Culture. What we want is to collect all those terms or expressions, whether or not they are included in the Dictionary of the Royal Spanish Academy (RAE), but for one reason or another, now or in recent years are "sounding" in the media, in the street, in our environment.

This week, we are going to talk about PLOGGING. It is not really a new term, we have been hearing it for several years now, but we think it is important not only to explain its lexical meaning but, above all, to contribute to its practice. And what better time than on the eve of a weekend, although it seems that the weather forecasts are not going to be the most appropriate time for a walk or a run in the countryside.

PLOGGING: This is a movement originating in Sweden that basically consists of practising ecological walks or runs while carrying a rubbish bag to collect the waste that we come across and then deposit it in the corresponding recycling containers. It is about running for the planet, combining sport and environmental protection.

Nice, responsible and easy, isn't it?

And why don't we also do it going to school, to work, to the cinema, to the theatre...? Let's make the journey to our destination the cleanest, most beautiful and respectful way.
